The pictures online do not tell you the level of the difficulty of each trail, nor can the guide books measure the energy you have to expend. However, this time we have to emphasize that the trail at Mount Elmore is harder than we expected.
We really had to climb parts of the trail here. Instead of just using our feet, we had to use our hands and legs to climb on the smooth and wet rocks. With assistance from the tree branches and exposed roots by the side of the trial, we were able finished this hike sounds and safe.

We believe the length of this hike is about the same as all the others we had done before, but we were much more exhausted than all these other hikes we had done.

Up at the top, there is the Fire Tower.

Here is the view from the top of the Fire Tower.

A snake was resting on top of the mountain.

We went to the beach afterward, probably not a natural one but good enough for a rest and some snacks.

My God! Stay away from that snake!
Vermont Snakes are virtually harmless. Unless you get caught with an adder, they will bite and can make you sick. Other than that gardeners are perfectly okay, they won't kill you, just a little pinch.
I have this kind of snake in my garden and they are afraid of me, but I really like them. Last year there where even babies in my flower beds, crawling all over their snake mom. :)
