Baby Bath Tub

Chinese Version (中文版)
We finally bought our first item for the baby: a baby bath tub.

I wasn't planning to buy a baby bath tub as I thought the infant should able to fit in the sink for the first six months. By then, I should able to give bath to the baby in the bath tub. For safety reason, Ian thought a baby bath tub could avoid the baby or even myself from slipping. So we decided to buy a baby bath tub.

We don't have a long list of requirements for the baby bath tub. As long as the baby bath tub can fit in the regular bath tub and has a plug at the base for draining, it would be good to go. Luckily, we found this Fisher-Price's baby bath tub for only $8.50 USD while we visiting Once upon a child, a store that carries secondhand baby items.

By the way, the London Bear in the bath tub is a gift from my cousin Pauline to the baby, she told me that this is the size of the baby when the baby first comes into this world and told us to use it for practice. Thank you Pauline!!

Baby Wish List

Chinese Version (中文版)
I'm so grateful that Stephanie is arranging a Baby Shower for us!. We had kinda given up hope on having a baby shower since we moved to Vermont. But when Stephanie brought up the idea, and the timing coincided with my upcoming trip to Toronto, it just kinda made sense. It would be a chance to celebrate our upcoming baby, and also give me a chance to see you before the baby arrives and the hermitic phase of our lives begin.

In order to organize and make the best use of your well wishes, here is our wish list of baby items and where you can get it - our own version of a registry. Just e-mail me or Stephanie with the item you intend to purchase and we will cross it off this list on the same day.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Foods in NYC

Chinese Version (中文版)
Tao Restaurant
With Ian's co-worker's recommendation, our first night in NYC, we went to Butter Restaurant. On our arrival, we realized this is a high-end restaurant and I was kind of worry that they would not allow us to enter the restaurant due our casual dress. It turned out that we got in without any problem. Even the servers in the restaurants are extremely profession and nice. I wonder if this has anything to do with the bad economy or whether people in NYC just have a bum rap.

All four of us ordered different dishes and we all agreed that the foods are well worth the price. Especially their home-made biscuit, we weren't able to stop nibbing them even after the entree.

We then went to the famous Tao for our second night. I'm not sure whether it was because we are not very into fusion, but we didn't find the food as great as its reputation. I guess we would rather stick with authentic Chinese food.

"Walls of Fame"

Chinese Version (中文版)
Ian and I both have been in New York before separately. This is the first time we're there together. We have been talking about going to NYC to visit our buddies BK and Glen for awhile. Since the baby is coming soon, we decided we should just go before the baby is here. So we went to NYC the past weekend!!

We have seen the major sights before, so we just picked some different places to visit such as Williamsburg where we found the following "Walls of Fame"!!

Old Toys

Chinese Version (中文版)
After doing some serious research about cameras, Ian started collecting these old point & shot film cameras in the past couple of months. He has been testing them and looks like they indeed produce better colors and quality of pictures compare to the technology nowadays - digital cameras. I guess the new doesn't really beat the old all the time after all.

New Toys

For me, I am staying with modern technology. Digital cameras are much more convenient as I have no patience for the right light and right time to take precious shots.

Baby Gifts

中文版 (Chinese Version)

Babies always draw attention amongst friends and family. Even before they are born, they receive gifts far ahead of their scheduled arrival.

Thanks to my dear sister and friend Essie and another friend, Claudia, who is also expecting, for these gifts.
And these are from my Dad and relatives Mavie & Grace.
As for you Cora, you sure surprised me with your gift, thanks to you & Billy!!
