We knew that most of the people would head to the beach on Sunday. In order to avoid the crowd, we decided to go downtown. We read online that parking in downtown Portland is horrendous; therefore, we went there in the early morning, and arrived the parking lot we found online for $25 all day parking. We parked the car, walked down to the wharf, signed up for the 90-minute Discover tour, then "discovered" that street parking is free on Sundays! Arrrrgg!!
Anyway....
You don't get to see a lot of big businesses in downtown Portland as most of the shops are local businesses. For this reason, the streets are full of these cute little stores that have their own character.
